Wahoo, Nebraska

Samuel Peter Emil Walstrom was born in Westerhult, Sweden on October 5, 1854. He completed five years of elementary school, and that was the extent of his formal education. He still had a great interest in books and reading. He also had a propensity for math. Though he was largely a "self-taught man" [1], Walstrom was trained in the art of cabinet making. He emigrated to Omaha in 1882, moving to Wahoo after a year. He was the architect for several buildings in the town. On December 6, 1885, Walstrom married Mathilda Pearson. The two went on to have six children together. Walstrom died on June 8, 1931 after a period of ill health.[1]
