Frederick Daniel Rhode was born in Greenwich, Pennsylvania on August 23, 1861 to Mary Ann Zimmer and William Roth.[2] He was both a hotel keeper and an architect. Rhode's wife was named Mary Elizabeth Hoyt, and they had at least five children.[1] He married his wife in Papillion, Nebraska in November of 1889, and the following year Rhode was keeping a hotel there.
