Donald L. Nispel was born in Hastings, Nebraska on June 28, 1931. He attended the University of Nebraska from 1949-1950, after which he attended Hastings College until 1951, and again in 1953-1954. In between his two sessions at Hastings, Nispel served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1951-1953. Nispel opened his own firm, Donald L. Nispel, in Hastings, Nebraska in 1967. Nispel died on May 20, 1997 at age 65 in Hastings.[2][3]
