Charles R. DeLaMatyr was born in December of 1853 in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, to Harriet (nee Stanton) and Rev. John Henry DeLaMatyr, who was a carpenter/joiner and an itinerant Methodist Episcopal minister (as were at least two of John's brothers). Coudersport was a brief stop on Harriet and John's journeys that took them to Wisconsin, Nevada, Nebraska, and Colorado.[x][a]
DeLaMatyr died in 1918 [2]
