Charles G. Seale (1923-1980), Architect
Charles Seale was born in Alamosa, Colorado, though he was a resident of Lincoln for 33 years. Seale had 13 years of architectural experience when he served as Lincoln’s superintendent of Building Codes and Administration for City of Lincoln in 1964. Seale was very involved in his practice and community, serving as President of the Lincoln section of the Nebraska chapter of the AIA in 1971, charter member and former president of the Nebraskaland Conference of Building, and member of the Heart of American Chapter of Building Officials.
Seale was also a Member of the Heart of American Chapter of Building Officials, on the Board of Directors of the International Conference of Building Officials, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.[2] He was also a member of the ICBO research committee in 1972, chairman of the committee in 1973, on the board of directors of ICBC in 1978.[3][4] He was appointed to the Lincoln Center Housing Potential Task Force in June 1979.[5]
Seale died on January 20, 1980. He was survived by his wife, Elvera; daughter, Mrs. Bill (Brenda) Venhaus, Lincoln; mother, Mrs. Hester Wilhelm, Alamosa, Colorado; sister, Mrs. Ray (Zula) Hunt, Littleton, Colorado; and a granddaughter.[3][5]
