C. E. Schaeffer was born in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1886, to Harry M. Schaffer. He moved to North Platte to begin his architectural career, and he died on April 20, 1912.[1][a]

a. In source [1], his last name is spelled Schaffer, but in the 1911 North Platte directory, it is Schaeffer.

b. He was not found in 1910 federal census in Nebraska under either spelling.
