In an interview, Bill Hoffman describes how this line of partnerships evolved after 1970: Martin Aitken, who had been building in the 1930s, was going to retire until Bill talked him into joining him. Then Burket Graf and Woody Hull were looking for places. Nathan Hazen|Bruce Hazen]], who [had worked with Bill before], was also looking for a place.
"Eventually the group of us formed Aitken, Hazen, Hoffman & Miller", a firm that Bill maintained his office in the name of until 2003.1]
