Stanley W. Thornton was born January 30, 1903. He grew up in Neligh, Nebraska, and he got his architectural training from the American School of Correspondence. Thornton changed jobs often. At various points in his life, he was a high school teacher, the manager of a lumber yard, and the superintendent for the Architectural Department of the Chicago Lumber Company. Thornton died October 2, 1967.[1]
