Peter Denney was born on February 12, 1843, in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.[1] He was raised on a farm, and subsequently engaged in the lumber business before moving West in the spring of 1866.[1] Denney settled in Fremont, Nebraska, where he was engaged with an architectural firm for one year, prior to opening his own business in 1867.[1] With the exception of two years in Lincoln, Denney’s business remained in Fremont.[1] A year after opening his business, Denney married Margaret Close, and together they had two children, Roy and Eva. All were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Fremont.[1]
Denney died in 1912 at the age of 69. He was buried in Spokane, Washington, where he had lived since at latest 1900.[2]
