Chicago, Illinois, 1909-1919

Parker N. Berry was born on September 2, 1888 in Hastings, Nebraska to Elvetta Noble and John Berry.[1][3][4] He grew up in Princeton, Illinois. At the age of 21, Berry became the chief draftsman for prominent Chicago Architect Louis Sullivan.[2] In some cases, Berry was also the designer along with Sullivan and other draftsmen. He was the first applicant in the State of Illinois to score a perfect exam on his Illinois State boards in 1912.[4] Berry married Grace Robertson in 1913. He died prematurely on December 16, 1918 of an illness at the age of 30.[2][4]
