Norman D. Olsen was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 1, 1937. Before beginning his architectural studies, Olsen served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1961-1967.[1] While serving, Olsen received his Bachelor of Architecture from Kansas State University in 1964.[1] In 1970, Olsen began working for Kirkham, Michael & Associates. Then he practiced with his own architectural firms, first, Teig & Olsen, and then the Olsen Partnership. He was married to Linda Pounds Arnold, with whom he had two daughters, but they separated. Olsen died at 58 years of age in Omaha.[2]
