Born in October of 1849, Joseph P. Gardner was an Omaha architect who started out his career as a carpenter in the state of his birth, New York.[1][2] Gardner moved to Nebraska from Albany with his wife Mary, sometime between 1880 and 1889.[1][2] He had at least one child, a daughter.[1]
