John Ridgely McClurg, Jr. was born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 5, 1924. Before studying archietctuer, McClurg served in the United States Army from 1943-1946. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Nebraska in 1951. McClurg then began practicing architecture with Steele Sandham & Associates. He continued on with a number of firms, notably the Omaha architectural giant Leo A. Daly Company. McClurg died in Omaha, sometime between December 4, 2008 and July 22, 2009.[2][3][4]
