John Peter Helleberg, Jr. (1922-1969), Architect
 He fought in World War II before becoming Registered Professional Architect in Nebraska in 1948, and from 1946-1969 was an architect and partner with his father in the firm Helleberg & Helleberg, in Kearney. He was married to Wilma, with whom he had two sons and a daughter. Helleberg belonged to the American Institute of Architect, the Gargoyle and Scarab honorary architectural fraternities, the First Lutheran Church, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and the BPOE1ks Lodge. He was president of the Rotary Club as well. Helleberg received the distinguished service award from the Jaycees. Helleberg died on April 11, 1969 at the age of 47, after battling a long-term illness.
