Headline: Congregational Church of Winona

Description: Congregational Church of Winona, now First Congregational Church of Winona (UCC), 1880-1882, Winona, Minnesota. William H. Willcox (1832-1929), Architect.

The foundation was laid in the Spring of 1880, and the stained glass was installed in November, 1881. A kitchen wing was annexed in 1904, and a second story was added at the rear (far left in photo) in 1928. The four small decorative spires at the base of the roof of the corner steeple, at the level of the eight-sided belfry, have since been removed. ~ Carol A. Jefferson, Ph.D.
