Headline: Congregational Church of Winona

Description: Congregational Church of Winona, now First Congregational Church of Winona (UCC), 1880-1882, Winona, Minnesota. William H. Willcox (1832-1929), Architect.

The foundation was laid in the Spring of 1880, and the stained glass was installed in November, 1881. A second story was added at the rear (far left in photo) in 1928. The corner steeple, 130 feet tall, formerly had four small decorative spires at the base of the roof, at the level of the eight-sided belfry. ~ Carol A. Jefferson, Ph.D.
