Chester Norris Lowe (1897-1986), Architect
Chester Norris Lowe was born on February 2, 1897 in Cleveland, Ohio, and was educated there in the public schools. He attended one year each at the Cleveland Art School and the Carnegie Technical School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He established his own firm in Cleveland in 1920, with a practice devoted principally to residential design. He is credited with designing the first open plan house in that city. His only known Nebraska connection is a proposed design for the George W. Norris residence in McCook, 1931. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects from 1927. Lowe died in Orlando, Florida in January of 1986.[2][3][4]
