Charles S. Bates (1860-1943), Architect

Chadron, Nebraska, 1887-1889


Charles S. Bates was born on February 26, 1860 to Alfred and Amanda Bates.[2] He practiced architecture in Chadron, Nebraska, at least from 1887-1889. His father, Alfred Bates, from Elyria, Ohio, joined him in the Chadron business in 1887.[1] Neither individual was found in Nebraska in the U. S. Census. He was married to Ellen Suzanna Bates. He later moved to and died in Omaha, Nebraska on September 9, 1943.[2]
