'''Henry Rohwer''' was born on November 18, 1856. In his early years, Rohwer assisted his father in operating a flour mill on Long Creek and later farmed. Rohwer was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Rohwer, pioneers of the Fort Calhuon vicinity, and he was considered a leading citizen of that area. In his adulthood, Rohwer worked as a civil engineer in Omaha. Rohwer was the former President of the Fort Calhoun State bank, served as county commissioner for two years, and in 1901 and 1903 was a member of the state legislature. Rohwer married Anna Olsen in Central City in 1906, and they went on to have at least three children; Anna died in 1920, whereupon Mr. Rohwer lived with his niece, Miss Kate Mehrens for 18 years. Rohwer died on February 7, 1943; he was survived by his niece, Miss Kate Mehrens; and his brother, Chris Rohwer, of Lincoln, Nebraska.[[#References|[1][2][3]]]
