In 1958 he married Mrs. Patricia Putney Zimmer in Council Bluffs, Iowa. When the family departed for Denmark the next year, mention was made of three sons--an infant Erik Jr. and teenagers Jay and Billie--presumably Erik Jr.'s half-siblings.[[#References|[4][5][6]]]
